Kindergarten Teacher (Hybrid General Education & Special Needs Classroom)
Pay: $24.00 per hour
Join Our Innovative Kindergarten Team!
We are seeking a passionate, flexible, and creative Kindergarten Teacher to join our growing school community. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an innovative program that blends a traditional kindergarten classroom with students who have special needs in an inclusive, supportive learning environment. The idea here is to allow children with ASD and neurotypical peers a classroom setting in which they all can thrive.
Our goal is to create a classroom where every child is valued, challenged, and supported. As our program continues to evolve, we are looking for educators who enjoy problem-solving, collaborating with colleagues, and helping shape best practices for inclusive early childhood education.
What Makes This Position Different?
Our kindergarten program is intentionally designed with low student-to-teacher ratios, allowing teachers to provide individualized instruction and meaningful support for every child. This position is ideal for someone who believes all children can learn together and is excited to help build an inclusive model that continues to grow and improve. This will be a program that evolves over time and throughout the school year. Working with the Principal to shape and design this classroom will be an essential element of the role.
Because this is a developing program, flexibility is essential. We build systems, refining routines, and adapting our instructional practices as we learn what works best for our students. The right candidate will embrace change, collaborate with teammates, and approach challenges with a positive, solution-focused mindset.
We are also a Christian school so there will be some faith elements that will be taught during the day. The ideal candidate will identify as a Christian but also be willing to teach basic bible knowledge in age appropriate ways to Kindergarteners.
Responsibilities
Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate kindergarten lessons.
Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
Collaborate closely with special education staff, therapists, and support personnel.
Monitor student growth and communicate regularly with families.
Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.
Participate in team meetings and professional development.
Demonstrate flexibility as classroom structures and instructional practices evolve.
Contribute ideas and strategies to help strengthen our inclusive kindergarten model.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field, Highly Preferred
Valid teaching license (or eligibility to obtain one).
Experience working with young children.
Experience with or interest in inclusive education and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
